Hi everyone! Welcome to our new recipes we have for you to be a little bit more healthier. Today I have for you 3 snacks recipes I’m sure will make you hungry. Sometimes we just want to eat something delicious and healthy at the same time and we think that is not possible, but it is, so continue reading to know more about that.

Spiced sweet potato wedges

Spiced sweet potato wedges

Toss sweet potato in cumin, chilli and sumac, then oven bake with lemon and garlic for chunky chips which are crispy yet fluffy. As well this snack is gluten-free and vegetarian, it only has 193 kcal per serving.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp chilli flakes
  • 2 tsp sumac
  • 2 tbsp thyme leaves, roughly chopped
  • 2 tbsp rosemary leaves, roughly chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • zest and juice 1 lemon
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1¼kg sweet potatoes, cut into wedges.

PROCEDURE

  1. Heat oven to 200C/180C fan/gas 6. Using a pestle and mortar, bash together the spices, herbs, garlic and some seasoning.
  2. Spoon into a large bowl and stir in the lemon zest and juice, and the oil. Add the potatoes and toss together. Arrange, skin-side down, on 2 baking trays and bake for 30–40 mins until soft inside and crisp on the outside.

Spiced apple crisps

Spiced apple crisps

Keep hunger pangs at bay by snacking on healthy dried fruit – this version bakes green apples with cinnamon. It is gluten-free and only have 90 kcal per serving.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Green apples
  • cinnamon, for sprinkling

PROCEDURE 

  1. Heat the oven to 160C/ 140C fan/ gas mark 3. Core the apple and slice through the equator into very thin slices 1 – 2mm thick. Dust with cinnamon and lay flat on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  2. Cook for 45 mins – 1 hour, turning halfway through and removing any crisps that have turned brown. Continue cooking until the apples have dried out and are light golden. Cool, store in an airtight container and enjoy as a snack.

Spicy bean & corn dip

Spicy bean & corn dip

Turn the storecupboard staples of tinned sweetcorn, kidney beans and mixed beans into something special. This snack is vegetarian and vegan with only 128 kcal per serving.

INGREDIENTS

  • 395g can kidney bean in chilli sauce
  • 400g can mixed bean, drained
  • 326g can sweetcorn, drained
  • small red onion, chopped
  • 1 red chilli, deseeded and chopped
  • small bunch coriander, chopped
  • 350g vegetable sticks and tortilla chip, to serve

PROCEDURE

  1. In a food processor, whizz threequarters of the kidney beans and half the mixed beans until smooth. Tip into a bowl and add the remaining ingredients with some seasoning. Serve with crunchy vegetable sticks and tortilla chips for dipping.
